Meeting called to order by John Dietman at 7:00 PM

The new Spokane City Police Ombudsman Tim Burns gave a presentation on the role of this new position. The office will soon be in the Old City Hall Building on the second floor. Mr Burns was hired last August after working in California for most of his career. The mission of the office follows:

The Ombudsman will have the authority to:
o Take complaints directly from citizens.
o Determine whether investigations of officers are thorough, complete, and fair, and
call for additional investigation when warranted.
o Recommend mediation between police and a citizen when the ombudsman deems
that is the best way to resolve a complaint.

The phone number is 509-625-6742 or visit city website.

District 81 is moving forward with the new playing field next to the splashpad. Still discussion on how much parking is needed. Notices have been sent to the homes nearest the playing fields.

The members voted 30 to 0 to forward a resolution regarding the NITNC recommendation that the city of Spokane continue funding to maintain and utilize the city wide Baseline Traffic Study.

Dump passes will be handed out at the 4-13-10 meeting and the annual yard sale is scheduled for Sat 6-29-10. We need a small committee to deal with event. Ed Musser will be heading up the effort this year.

The treasurer reported that we have $5689.07 in our bank account.

Curt Fackler
Secretary
